Gecko Travel is an independent, fully licensed, UK based travel company offering adventure tours, holidays and vacations to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, China and Sri Lanka.
Our holidays, both scheduled tours and tailor-made itineraries, appeal to those wishing to discover the real South East Asia; singles, couples, families - old and young - anyone with a sense of adventure!

In depth knowledge of the Indochina region enables us to offer original itineraries with a balance between the region's better known 'must-sees' and it’s off-the-beaten-track, 'well kept secrets'.
Gecko Travel tours will provide a real insight into the countries you are visiting - culture, history, landscape and natural world - and allow opportunities for genuine interaction with the local people and communities.
As much as possible on our adventure trips we will stay in smaller, family-run accommodation, eat in local restaurants and use local style transport. In addition all guides and agencies used are considered friends rather than 'business contacts'. The idea being that you will visit Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and Malaysia as guests rather than as tourists.
Respect for local people, their cultures, traditions, religions and environment are essential to Gecko Travel philosophy, and we work hard to ensure our groups have a positive impact on the places and people visited. |

New name competition! After 10 successful and enjoyable years of delivering high quality holidays to SE Asia we have decided it is time for a re-brand. We have various ideas for names for the new company but thought it might be fun to get a wider number of suggestions from which to choose.
We are offering £200 off any of our tours to the first person who comes up with the name we ultimately choose. Please submit your suggestion to : frontdesk@geckotravel.com
- if you come up with a name which has already been suggested, we will tell you - and you are welcome to go back to the drawing board. Obviously we are looking for something unique and which best expresses the nature and geographical location of our tours.

NEW TOURS
China - "Yunnan; South of the Clouds" - Linked to our existing range of SE Asian itineraries, our highly original Yunnan tour takes you to China by train through the mountains of Northern Vietnam and returns to Thailand by way of a cruise down the Mekong River between Burma and Laos.v (Next departure 13th September.)
The inaugural tour of Chiang Mai to Hanoi Overland departed in February. A unique itinerary, by road and by river through the dramatic mountains and jungles of Northern Lao and Vietnam. The tour takes advantage of the newly opened border crossing between Laos and Vietnam at Dien Bien Phu - only opened in May 07 - so go where no tour group's ever gone before.
Due to some seriously bad roads in Lao and the complete absence of bridges during certain sections this tour is scheduled to depart throughout the dry season only, October - April. (Next departure 25th October.)
Borneo - "Land Below the Wind", extends our award winning Malaysia Peninsula tour into Borneo's spectacular Sabah Province. (Next availability 2nd October).

From Eastern Thailand we'll journey into South Laos’ Champassak Province to explore the Boloven Plateau and Sepian National Bio-diversity Area before heading south via the World Heritage ruins of Wat Phu Temple, to discover the stunning Four Thousand Islands region, where the Mekong cascades into Cambodia over a series of spectacular falls.  Northern Thailand : The Hills of Mae Charim
The delights of Thailand’s beaches and islands are world renowned – these mist shrouded mountains and lush forests of the far North are still waiting to be discovered. Beginning in Bangkok we’ll head North via the ruined ancient Siamese Capital of Sukhothai to remote Nan Province on the Lao border to trek and raft through spectacular Mae Charim National Park.
